Frequently Asked Questions About Motorhome Hire Bolton
What's included in the hire price?
The rental of the vehicle, fully comp insurance, unlimited miles, gas for cooking and heating, bedding and towels, outdoor furniture and free wifi in the Swift vehicles.
Is there a security deposit?
Yes, the insurance excess for all vehicles is £1000. You do not physically transfer monies - simply sign our waiver. This document is a signed agreement that you are liable for the excess in the event of an insurance claim.
Do I need to arrange my own insurance?
No - insurance is included as part of the hire fee.
What is the deposit to book?
We require 20% of the hire fee as a deposit to secure your booking. The remaining balance must be paid 6 weeks before the hire.
Is there a cleaning fee?
No - the cleaning fee is included in the hire price. We do all the cleaning, inside and out. All we ask is that you empty the chemical toilet before returning the vehicle
Is there an age limit for drivers?
Yes - as standard, anyone between the ages of 25-79 can be insured. For higher ages, we just have to run it past our insurance company on a case-by-case basis - just ask the question
Do I need a special licence to drive the motorhome?
No - all vans are under 3500kg, so a normal B licence is sufficient.
However, you will have had to have held your licence for at least 2 years
Am I covered for breakdown?
Yes, all vans have full UK and EU breakdown coverage as standard
I have points / convictions - how many do you accept?
We can insure you for up to 6 points of common SP offenses (speeding in a 30/50 etc)
For anything else, please tell us when booking the vehicle, so we can check that the insurance are OK with the conviction
What are collection / return times?
Collections are from 8am, returns are by 3pm - to allow us to clean and prep for the next days hire.
Can we take the vans abroad?
Yes - All European countries are covered as standard
What's the minimum / maximum hire length?
3 nights is the minimum but we do have weekend hires who collect friday morning and drop off late Sunday evening - this is still classed as a 3 night hire.
We have no maximum hire period.
Peak weeks such as Glastonbury & school holidays are generally 1 week minimum hires, although if we do have a gap in these periods, we can do a shorter hire
What MPG do the vans do?
Approx. 30 MPG, dependent on speed the vehicle is being driven and weather conditions (driving into a head wind etc.)

What is your fuel policy?
The fuel tank will be full upon collection and must be returned with a full fuel tank
Can I leave my car with you?
Yes - you are welcome to leave your car with us
Can I bring my pet?
Yes, albeit it depends what kind of pet
